Presentation in memory of Donald “Jack” Bereziuk
Calgary and Area Alberta Dressage Association (CAADA) has generously granted permission for a special presentation to be made in memory of a long-time student and friend of Jennifer Winkler Sport Horses.
Jack Bereziuk (May 24, 1950 – March 8, 2018) began training with Jennifer shortly after he acquired his first horse. Prior to becoming ill, Jack had accomplished second level dressage and was working towards his goal of mastering third level. He was an exceptionally committed rider and had enormous passion and dedication to the art of dressage. He was tireless in the care and attention to detail concerning his mounts MacIntosh (Mac) and later, Riley.
He faithfully applied himself to learning, diligently practicing new skills he was taught until he could execute them with precision. Jack took enormous satisfaction in mastering each individual step that must be attained on the journey to becoming an accomplished rider of dressage. Jack never entertained shortcuts or sidestepped the rigorous work required to ride skilfully. Maintaining a high level of physical fitness, achieved by time spent at the gym and regular hikes in the wilderness, were regarded as part of what it took it ride well.
He left us far too soon; his insightfulness, smile and sense of humour are terribly missed.
In his memory, an embroidered cooler will be presented to the adult amateur 2nd level champion at the CDI***/Y/AM & Gold Show (May 31 – June 3) at RMSJ in Calgary.
