Contester II's dam (Lancetto/ Lakai) produced 2 approved stallions and sporthorses excelling at advanced levels in Europe. Her Holsteiner stemm line (1020) famed for generating approved stallions such as Quinar (Quidam de Revel), and Libero (Lido) is highly sought after for producing the International show jumpers Lucca by Landgraf (ridden by Alberto Rivera Prado for MEX) and Silas 55 by Slivano (ridden by Helena Weimberg for GER).

His sire, Contender has dominated German Breeding values for many years now with over 50 approved stallions and 59 state premium mares. One of the most influential sons of Calypso II— who was himself an important transmitter of the genetic heritage of Cor de la Bryère — and out of the Ramiro daughter, Gofine who was in turn by the great Thoroughbred sire, Ladykiller (Her line goes: Ramiro x Ladykiller xx x Heidkrug x Loretto-First-Mirza-Rudolf-Defregger-Justinus-Achill-Fritz), Contender won the 1987 Adelheidsdorf stallion performance test with a jumping index of 146.62.

Contester II's great-grand sire, Cor de la Bryère, is known as "the sire of great sires" and the pedigree traces back to the lines of Landgraf and Ladykiller.
